Are you ready for the second episode of the final season of GOT? What a satisfyingly spectacular and dramatic season premiere last Sunday! Yet, while the first episode certainly delivered lots of material for new tensions and power struggles, the only problem was that it was just all-too short. We are so ready for more! So what to do with the excruciating wait time? Well, we’ve made our second Westeros drink! This one we’ve named Red Viper, and it celebrates another of the great houses that seems to have been pushed from the centre of the action. However, it is still uncertain if they might reappear and have some crucial role to play in the end game for the throne. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see… Somewhere in a dungeon below the Red Keep a viper is very likely plotting her revenge as we speak.
Red viper – GOT drinks, part II (makes 1 drink)
1 oz Jamaican rum (eg Appleton Estate, Signature Blend)
3 oz Dornish red (or Nebbiolo or other dry full-bodied red wine)
1 tsp pomegranate syrup
1 tsp lime juice
Slices of lime peel
Red edible flowers
1. Pour the rum, red wine, pomegranate syrup and lime juice into a mixing glass and stir well to make the syrup dissolve.
2. Pour the drink into a fitting 5 oz (150 ml) glass. Carefully cut thin slices of lime peel with a very sharp small knife, making sure you only cut off the outer green peel. Try to cut the peel into ringlets. Decorate your Red Viper with the lime peel ringlets and red edible flowers.
Enjoy!
