As hoped for, and expected, the final season of GOT only got better with the second episode. What an amazing scene where all our beloved characters gather around the fireplace in the silence before the storm! It is bittersweet, though, because at the back of our minds we know that next Sunday these our favorites will start to go…one by one… Yes, it fills us with fear, horror and fury, but alas, that is what keeps us glued to the screen…
They certainly seem convinced themselves, except perhaps for Tyrion, that they’re all going to die, so we kind of know what we’re in for this Sunday! I wish I could have offered them a better last drink than the one provided that night in the great hall of Winterfell, but at least you may enjoy this one, which we’ve named ‘Fury’. Kind of fitting, we thought, for what is to come, while it also celebrates another great house whose downfall was nothing less than spectacular. But, there is still a bastard left of that house, and maybe he’ll yet have a crucial part to play? Who knows, he seems to be very good with his hands indeed, and he has (partly) won over a certain young Stark lady. What the result of that will be remains to be seen… And thus we wait in darkness.
‘Fury’, GOT drink, part III (makes one drink)
Ingredients
2.5 oz gin
5 oz strong Earl Grey tea, cooled
2 oz Indian tonic water
½ oz simple syrup
½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
Ice
Thin slice of fresh cucumber cut lengthwise with a mandolin slicer
1 cinnamon stick
Directions
1. Brew a large cup of strong Earl Grey tea, and put it in the fridge to cool down.
2. When the tea has cooled down completely, add the tea, gin, syrup, lemon juice and a bit of ice into a cocktail shaker and shake well.
3. Then put a little extra ice in a large tumbler glass, pour the mixture over and top off with the Indian tonic. Then stir a bit and garnish with a long, thin slice of cucumber and cinnamon stick and your ‘Fury’ is ready to be served.
Enjoy!
